Common Requirements & Performance Capabilities

Eligibility Business Model Any civilian team operating remotely piloted aircraft systems (RPAS) that are heavier than air designed for commercial use.
Design COTS (commercial-off-the-shelf) The solution is market-ready and could be purchased by other teams presently or in the near future
Manual and autonomous flying modes Teams must furnish pilots that have demonstrated adequate piloting skills and documentation
Type Cargo Competitions: Electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing (eVTOL), Find and Assess Competition: steep landings and hand launch can be allowed
BVLOS (beyond visual line of sight) The team can demonstrate proven BVLOS experience with its system
Operational Environment AMSL (Above mean sea level) Ability to fly up to 2’000m AMSL (300m AGL max)
Temperature range & humidity Min 10°C, Max 40°C & 80%
Navigation, Communication & Surveillance Must maintain C2 link during all stages of flight
E-identification Must demonstrate the capability of independent location tracking independent of C2 link
Vertical navigation accuracy ± 10m
Lateral navigation accuracy ± 10m
Aircraft can maintain predefined holding points/patterns
Current industry best practice cyber security Malware protection, secured C2 links, encryped data
Onboard (selective and temporary) geofencing Autopilot can be configured so that aircraft cannot fly outside of (or into) predefined 3-dimensional polygon.
Flight Termination System (e.g. forced landing, RtH, parachute, airbag) In accordance with the operational risk assessment.
Ground Control Station (i.e. operator’s screen) Can be viewed by scrutineers, judges and safety officer
Documentation Operation Risk Assessment Covering all relevant risks relating to each user case including air and ground risks
Incident Reports Teams are to submit a written incident report in case of accidents or mishaps
Operations Manual Teams to submit in English along with their registration
Operator certificate from their country of origin
Remote Pilot License Certification with an aircraft system rating
Technical Reference Manual

All documents to be submitted in English or as original with English translation
